This song off Wale’s overdue Back to the Feature mixtape leaked today, kudos to Wale’s Twitter. You can definitely feel The Roots influence on this track. Sounds like it could be off of one of their cd’s honestly. Dope, for sure.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Clippers were rewarded by the NBA for having the 2nd worst record in the league with the number one pick, where they have made no efforts to hide their infatuation with Blake Griffin. My first thought after gouging my eyes out when I learned that my beloved Wizards did not get a top two pick, was that the Clippers might actually not screw this pick up for once. In fact, if you take a look at their website, they already have images of Blake Griffin on there. Not the one below, unfortunately…but that’s why I posted it for you. That is the next number one pick lady and gentlemen.
Anyways, why I am bringing this up is that today, Neil Olshey, the assistant GM for the woeful Clippers said this, “I’d say we made the decision June 2008 when he decided to go back to Oklahoma, that if we got the number 1 pick in ’09, he’d be our guy.” Wait what? Maybe this isn’t really an admission to tanking, but what kind of GM/Assistant would ever say this. Who plans ahead for such failure? The Clippers, while a sporting team, is still a multi-million dollar company, whether we like it or not. They are pretty much here to stay. How can they publicly annonuce that they had their eyes on him from last year? Wait, you’re telling me when they signed Baron Davis and Marcus Camby a year ago and then subsequently traded for Zach Randolph they didn’t immediately think they weren’t in the lottery? Jeez. As much as I love their pick of Eric Gordon and Al Thornton is a nice little player, I can’t help but imagine a worse situation for Blake Griffin to step into. A franchise that is so driven by failure (trust me I know the feeling) that they announced that he was their guy a whole year in advance of the draft. Yet another reason why I think the whole draft lottery system should be overhauled. Whether each team should have an equal chance of getting the number 1 pick or whatever, the Clippers should never be rewarded again.

dime of the.. month?
You know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a dime of the week. Not that I’ve turned gay or anything, but I think I’ve been lazy with all the work that I have to do and all. Life is hard right now. Waking up at 11 AM and pressing snooze (oh wait, I don’t set my alarm) and going to bed at 3 AM really bring out the best in a human being. Of course this will end in a month when I start working again but something about eating breakfast and lunch within 30 minutes of one another at 2 pm is odd. Anyways, no one really gives a shit about that. You are wondering: who has Shraf come up with this time? Your answer is Ana Beatriz Barros. As far as I am concerned, she is not related to former NBA legend Dana. A quick gander at the Brazilian model’s wikipedia page will allow you to notice that she has been featured in Guess, Chanel and Victoria’s Secret ad campaigns. More importantly, however, she is the cover girl for the JLo Fashion Line, undoubtedly one of the best fashion lines around….

J. Cole – Dead Presidents 2
My friend turned me on to this dude after he saw him live with Wale in NYC a couple weeks back and so I checked him out and the new young gun at the Roc definitely has a bright future. His second mixtape entitled The Warm Up comes out in a couple weeks and features this song over Dead Presidents. He is definitely one to watch once this mixtape drops.
This is the first single off of Lasers. Unfortunately, it was recorded from a live stream so it isn’t that great of quality but it sounds good and I know peeps can’t wait for the new Lupe.

Good to know that HBO re-upped with K.P. and the crew for another season of Eastbound and Down. Hopefully it doesn’t take the nosedive that Flight of the Conchords took this season.

i apologize for hating..
On Kanye for getting with Amber Rose. After futher perusal, she has an amazing body and her little shaven-head ordeal actually adds more intrigue to her. Also, Kanye knows what hes doing…
It appears that they never really went past this stage, which would please A-Rod.
